I am using this all the time its wonderful

Definitely gives you an idea what a word would sound in a different language. Just wish it would give you more options as far as more languages when it comes to a certain word

Perhaps my expectations were too high. I cant really find any reason to use this. The website is easier, and better. Ill probably end up deleting this, unless they provide more functionality, like letting me save my favorite pronunciations on my device so that I can re-listen over and over without logging in. Now THAT would be helpful as I try to learn a new language.

I am very thankful for this app, especially the name pronunciations.

Wow, Ive used this app for years and now suddenly it has an upgrade, I have to login and I no longer understand how to use it. It used to be so quick, easy & user-friendly. If just type in the word and it would give me choices for pronunciation; male, female, French, English. Now - I type in a word and go round and round trying to get a pronunciation. Ive deleted this app and downloaded a different one. Too bad; was one of my favorite apps.

Forvo is one of my essential reference tools. Theres nothing better than knowing the correct pronunciation of words as spoken by people from the originating countries.

While not finding everything I want to learn, this helps. Of course nothing I would have thought possible to use in my life time. We do live in a science fiction world. Easy to use, I hunt words from news stories I read, so learn a bit more each time.

Keep the updates coming. This app can truly become an indispensable tool with periodic maintenance.

I used this app all the time to quickly hear the native pronunciation of any word in any language. This is no longer possible. Zero stars

I figured out how to have a Spanish word pronounced in Spanish. Choose the Pronounce option. I had thought this was the column heading. I love the app again.

The website is amazing, great for downloading sounds for anki. But the app needs a makeover.

There are too many words out there and too many pronunciations for them. This app is the best with helping you to learn how to say words you normally dont use. Thanks Forvo!

Tremendously useful. While studying and stumbling upon new words, getting a pronunciation you can actually hear and put into context is so so helpful. Not only for keeping the word in your memory, but also for figuring out pronunciations on your own. The app is really intuitive and a lot of the words come with different pronunciations based on country(Im learning French and a lot of words have Belgian, French or Canadian pronunciations) or gender.

As soon as I tap on a word to hear the audio, the app closes. Im ready to delete.

Other reviews are horrible for this app, so I was reluctant to purchase. Complaints seem to be centered around the need for an Internet connection and that is not super important for me, so I took a chance. It takes 3 seconds on 3G to download the audio samples for a pronunciation. This is a very small time price to pay in order to save gigabytes of space on the device for audio files you would most likely never use. Since the site gets updated by users all the time, the app would also lag what is available online, so for me, this is great. In the future I hope they add the ability to contribute pronunciations via the app. Very useful application!
